JTAA Recreation Basketball has a set of general Policies, Procedures, and Rules which governs the overall organization. For convenience, there is a separate JTAA Basketball Rules document which outlines just the rules of game play. Everyone participating in JTAA Rec Basketball must understand and agree to adhering to the Policy Manual and Rules of the game.

The league is broken down into age-specific divisions. For the 2025/2026 Season your child may register to play in the appropriate division as follows:

The JTAA Rec Board discourages a child playing up an age division.  However, there are times when a child possesses the level of skill and talent justifying playing up a division.  A parent can request that his or her child play up.  The director of that division, with the consent of the President of the League and Board of Directors, may authorize the request. Play-up requests are evaluated for each current season. If your child played up a division last year, you must put in a request for the current season.

Online registration opens August 1 and usually carries through October 15th. However, once a particular division reaches its player limit, registration for that division will close.  You may still register your child, but he or she will be put on a wait list in the order that he or she registered.  If players drop out or additional spots become available, players from the waiting list will be selected in the order of registration.

The season registration fee is $180 for the first and second player, $120 for the third or more players in the same immediate family.  Discounts apply to members of the same immediate family who are registered during the same online session.

Basketball Refund Policy: To be eligible for a refund (minus JTAA process fee), all requests must be submitted in writing and received by our Registrar prior to October 16.

Each team will have 2 scheduled practices per week, one at an indoor location and one at an outdoor location. Games are held on Saturdays. Practices and games are typically scheduled at Town of Jupiter, county or public school locations.

For our 5-6 age division,  games and practices will be played on Saturdays. 

To maintain a balanced and competitive league, we do not honor requests for a player to be placed on a specific team, with a specific coach or player.  Players are assigned to a team based on a draft system.  Only coaches are allowed to attend the draft.    

Given the large number of players that enroll each year and the limited amount of practice spaces available, we are unable to guarantee specific requests.  If you have a potential conflict, please email your age division League Director immediately, prior to draft week.  Regardless of any submitted request, players must be prepared to practice on the specific date and time assigned. Changes will not be made once assigned. Please see contact information for League Directors on the Volunteer Staff option above.  

Many divisions fill up and close prior to this date.  If an age division closes, players will be placed on a waitlist. 

Space permitting and with enough volunteer coaches, if we receive additional player requests, we may be able to open additional teams.  

Even if you heard that a division is currently closed, please sign up to be placed on the waitlist.  As positions open up via player drops or if we have enough players to add additional teams, open positions are filled by taking players from the waitlist only.
